Build Team members bring Expanse to units during Parallel Run

Members of the CARE4 build team brought MEDITECH Expanse and the new non-medical devices onto the units at  Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Georgian Bay General and Marine Hospital, and Headwaters Healthcare Centre to complete the first round of Parallel Run and End-User Testing between May 3 and 7, 2021.

End-User testing followed real life clinical scenarios by imitating real-time workflow experiences as seen on the unit.  Build Team members worked with managers to shadow front-line staff and physicians to complete actions in MEDITECH Expanse that mimicked what was being entered in Client Server.

The week was highly successful with many clinical staff and several credentialed staff  participating in testing activities. Any identified critical items are being reviewed by the Build Teams and additional suggested enhancements are being added to the future optimization list.

The second round of Parallel Run testing will take place during the weeks of July 5 and July 12, 2021 and will be lead by Superusers and CAREbots with support from the CARE4 Build Team.

While Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre was not able to participate in this round of end-user testing due to their COVID burden, they hope to participate in the second round.
